Animations
Various of my artworks overlap through my basic animation technique. Original music written/produced and performed by myself.
This animated character named Brenda is from a series of paintings called Oyster. I created the series by painting acrylic sections and using a collage technique to determine each final character. Brenda, set in front of a photograph I captured of an intoxicated gentleman asleep on the pavement on a very hot afternoon in downtown Los Angelas. Like Brenda in this clumsy animation, whilst I captured the moment passing people walked around and stepped over the sleeping man with no concern. The character Brenda is an elegant lady of age and wealth.
The music I composed/produced and performed for this animation is connected to the Oyster series.
This animation is two of my work disciplines coming together. The city landscape is an oil painting called Loneliness 1 from a series of paintings called Loneliness. The walking character is a 7ft sculpture I created called Tribe Mother. In this animation I wanted to try to bring the two together to express a feeling of ancient ancestral energy exploring new frontiers.
The music i composed/produced and performed for this animation was written for and is part of the painting Loneliness 1.
This character is St.Francis from the Oyster series of paintings. He is an unforgiving
intellectual, a fearless dandy and as hard as any hard man ever born. In this clumsy animation by using his walking arrogant approach on an empty street I wanted to provoke a feeling of intimidation and discomfort. Personally I find my painting St. Frances, like much of life quite unpalatable but somehow it engages intrigue. The music I composed/produced and performed for this animation was written for the painting St.Frances.
From an unnamed digital artwork I created of a retro futuristic head, in the process of trying to find its purpose it naturally manifested into a concept of this animation called Jet Man.
A saviour character with an army of love.
